Human & Environmental Genomics core facility

Directors: Philippe VANDENKOORNHUYSE and Jean MOSSER
Technical advisors: Sophie MICHON-COUDOUEL and Marc AUBRY

Activities

The 'Human & Environmental Genomics' core facility results from the fusion of 2 previous core facilities “Environmental and Functional genomics” and “Health Genomics” at University of Rennes 1 (France).

The purpose of the core facility is to carry out and assist your sequencing projects, from library preparation to primary bioinformatics analyses of the data generated by our NGS (Next Generation Sequencing) equipment (MiSeq, HiSeq Illumina) and to provide a self-service access to different state of the art equipment.

The core facility benefits from a scientific working environment combining both ecological and medical fields of research. This strength enables our core facility to offer original sequencing strategies and make possible transfers of knowledge and skills gained in both domains. Moreover, with this original scientific positioning, we aim to develop innovative strategies in order to achieve most of your sequencing projects using state-of-the-art genomics technologies.

Certifications

  • IBiSA certifications
The  Human & Environmental Genomics core facility (part of the “Biogenouest genomics” network) obtained the IBiSA label in April 2012 (i.e. technological platform of strategic importance at the national scale) and belong to the France Genomics network.
  • ISO9001 certifications
The GEH core facility is certified ISO9001 (v2008) since December 31, 2012.
